Sunday, 12 September - Cooking with Jasia (and Ela)

Cześć!
I’ve just watched our blog and loved what you’ve done, kids.
Mika in Tootgarook and Tom and Nick (Nick has a new haircut !!!) during their play.
Tommy, half the world will be able to see your room. Thank you. Good job Kasik.
But I must admit that I had to hold my tears – I do miss you all.

Now, I promised Mika to include a recipe for really delicious tomato soup Jasia made yesterday. It wasn’t easy to pin her down long enough to extract it from her. Of course she said it was really nothing.
Of course she said it was Well, here it is.
You need few vegetables (like for rosół)
**carrots
**parsnip
**celery
**onion

**fresh tomatoes (or tomatoes in a tin if you prefer)
**one egg separated

**teaspoon of sugar
**tablespoon of cream
**"some flour"
Cook vegetables and tomatoes together in a pot of water and when soft put them through the sieve – season with salt, pepper. Then make kogel mogel ( egg yolk mixed well with one teaspoon of sugar). Keep egg white on a side. To the egg yolk mixture add little bit of soup – mix well and add good table spoon of cream and mix. Add to the soup. Now, depending on how much soup you have either use only the egg white you have or add another egg and then some flour and make batter and then slowly start pouring it into the soup and stir and voila!
Bon apetit!
Don’t worry Julie! [mama, i'm guessing the Julia/Julie project (linked)?] I am not trying to compete with you at all, but I really thought it was the best tomato soup I ever tasted!

mmm, sounds yummy
i found a jamie oliver tomato soup recipe (link) which also uses eggs

All images are an approximation of jasia's soup.
ela didn't send any "real life" photos...
