Resting for goodness sake! But, don’t you think that 7th and 8th of September had been plenty enough for anyone’s emotional health? My heart is still pounding when I think of it.
Today was supposed to be another day of excursions and reviving old memories, but I have got myself a “cold” and it’s raining anyway.
So I rang Jacek and we called off a trip to Zakopane. Maybe tomorrow - the weather bureau promises better weather. So since there isn’t much to talk about, or pictures, I thought I might share something with you I found in a book I’ve been reading: Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz’s “Maids of Wilko” (czyli “Panny z Wilka”). It’s a story about young guy who after 15 years visits a place where he spent his summer holidays. Some of you may know this author or even this story. I’ve really enjoyed reading it and his style of writing. So this young man Wiktor again meets the people (mainly young women) he knew 15 years ago when he was 20 years old and they are about his age or couple of years younger and only now realises that those times were the happiest of his life only he didn’t realise it then.
“Wielki to grzech nie umieć spostrzec własnego szczęścia”. I will try to translate: “It is a great sin not to realise one’s own happiness” isn’t it right Sis?
(To those who don’t know, Bożena my sister is a great believer in accepting ourselves as we are and be happy about it.) I feel better already.
a photo of a local church, seen while going for a walk in the neighbourhood [mama, surely you've had enough of churches!]
